After throwing the football 67 times in a come from behind win against the Bears, Griese understands the team needs to find a balance within the play calling. "We do need to find that balance in order to be successful week in and week out. We talk over and over about it, but that's the recipe for success in this league." said Griese before practice on Wednesday. Currently the Bucs have a 2 to 1 pass to run ratio, considering the injury to Packers cornerback Al Harris the Bucs might lean on the passing game once again this Sunday.

Quarterbacks Jason Campbell of the Washington Redskins, Brian Griese of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers are the finalists for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week honors for games played on September 21 - 22. Griese completed 38 of 67 passes for 407 yards and two touchdowns in Tampa Bay’s 27 - 24 victory over the Chicago Bears. Behind Griese’s arm, Tampa Bay completed 22 of its 28 first downs through the air. Griese also led the Bucs in a 79-yard fourth-quarter scoring drive to tie the game and bring it into overtime.
