Bradley joins Seahawks as Defensive Coordinator

Earlier in the week, National Football Post writer Michael Lombardi reported that Casey "Gus" Bradley had been hired as the new defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks. That report appeared premature at the time, but on Saturday, multiple sources are reporting it is a done deal.

Team working over time to sign Bryant to a long term deal

The team is currently in negotiations, with the representatives of Antonio Bryant. The team is hopeful that they can come to an agreement on a long term deal before the start of free agency. If the two side are far apart, the way we hear it is they team might be willing to use it franchise tag on Bryant.

Bucs, Ink veteran receiver Kelly Campbell

According to the Vancouver Sun, The Buccaneers have agreed to terms with WR Kelly Campbell, formerly of the Edmonton Eskimos. Campbell, a former Viking & Dolphin, led the CFL with a 22.6 YPC average last year.

Bucs Have Two Nominated For Defensive Play Of The Week

For the first time in a long time, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have two defensive plays nominated for play of the week. DE Gaines Adams & MLB Barrett Ruud both turned in spectacular interceptions against the Bears and are up for the award for best defensive play of week three.

After throwing the football 67 times in a come from behind win against the Bears, Griese understands the team needs to find a balance within the play calling. "We do need to find that balance in order to be successful week in and week out. We talk over and over about it, but that's the recipe for success in this league." said Griese before practice on Wednesday. Currently the Bucs have a 2 to 1 pass to run ratio, considering the injury to Packers cornerback Al Harris the Bucs might lean on the passing game once again this Sunday.

The team waived CB Marcus Hamilton, but before he could clear waivers and be signed to the practice squad the Bears pounced on the first year player after seeing up close the potential playmaking ability Hamilton possess.

(Monday Morning Quarterback) King believes Buccaneers middle linebacker Barrett Ruud is one of the top three or four young MLB in all of the NFL. King is noted for being a straight shooter as well as an astute football person, for King to heap such praise on Ruud speaks volumes towards Ruuds game over the last year plus.

Quarterbacks Jason Campbell of the Washington Redskins, Brian Griese of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers are the finalists for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week honors for games played on September 21 - 22.

Griese completed 38 of 67 passes for 407 yards and two touchdowns in Tampa Bay’s 27 - 24 victory over the Chicago Bears. Behind Griese’s arm, Tampa Bay completed 22 of its 28 first downs through the air. Griese also led the Bucs in a 79-yard fourth-quarter scoring drive to tie the game and bring it into overtime.

This weeks game has the Green Bay Packers traveling south to face and old foe, this was a great battle of wills in the late 90's with Warren Sapp and Brett Favre going head to head. Now the Packers have a new gunslinger in Arron Rodgers. This game will feature two of the top eight offense's in the NFL while also two cellar dewelling defenses.
