Brats Recipes

BRATS IN BEER 

1 (12 oz.) can beer
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1 tsp. chili powder
2 cloves garlic, minced
Several drops hot pepper sauce
6 brats

Combine beer, brown sugar, soy sauce, mustard, chili powder, garlic and hot pepper sauce. Place brats in shallow baking dish; pour marinade over. Cover, refrigerate several hours or overnight, spooning marinade occasionally. Remove brats, reserve marinade. Grill over medium hot coals about 4 minutes. Turn and grill until done, about 3 to 4 minutes more. Makes 6 servings.

BRATWURST 

8 (12 oz.) Brats
6 pack of favorite beer
Barbecue grill

Soak brats overnight in 4 cans of beer. Prepare on grill next day, sprinkling with beer occasionally.

ACK'S BRATS 

Brats
2 lg. sliced onions
1/4 lb. butter
3 cans beer (not lite beer)

Into standard size crock pot, place onions, butter and beer. Cook brats on grill, DO NOT over-cook. Place brats in crock pot and simmer for 3 or 4 hours on low heat.

GRILLED BRATS 

12 brats (about 1 lb.)
1 (12 oz.) can beer
3 tbsp. prepared mustard
1 lg. onion, peeled and sliced
2 tbsp. butter

Place all ingredients in large pan. Simmer about 10 minutes. Remove brats and grill until brown and firm to the tough - 25 to 30 minutes. Set pan with quality dark beer on grill, add brats and simmer until ready to serve.

SWEET AND SPICY BRATWURST 

2 lb. brats cut in 1" pieces
1 or 2 sm. onions, chopped
2 tbsp. oil

Brown meat in oil and remove, sauteing onions in remaining oil. Drain oil. Add 1 cup beer to brats and onions. Simmer for 10 minutes.

1/4 c. brown sugar
4 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. cider vinegar
1/4 c. yellow mustard
4 tsp. horseradish

Cook until thick and bubbly stirring constantly. Put meat and beer mixture in crock pot and add mustard mixture. Cook on low for 3 hours.

FRED'S BRAT RECIPE 

Soak brats in beer and a quartered onion several hours or overnight. After brats have marinated, simmer in beer and onion mixture for 20 to 30 minutes. Do not prick sausage. Cook brats on the grill to desired doneness. Return them to beer mixture. Add 4 tablespoons butter. Serve on buns.
